OUR Mission

Essere was born from a desire to guide individuals toward a better perception of self in personal and professional life. Whether it be through uncovering the strengths that already exist or identifying roadblocks and limits that are in your way, Essere strives to help you discover your own inner wisdom, power, and possibility.

Origin

Essere was started by Megan Wendholt, Chief of Staff at a marketing firm in Grand Rapids, MI. Through her professional and personal life, she always found her most fulfilled moments coming from instances when she had meaningful conversations with others that helped them solve a problem or made them feel better about themselves. From these moments she found her passion in being a guide for people to become their best selves.

Megan went on to get her license in coaching and started Essere so she could continue having these meaningful conversations, listen to clients’ stories, and be a partner in maximizing their strengths and confidence, and completing their goals.

Megan’s Method

Megan’s coaching method is designed around empathy and understanding. You are your own individual human with unique characteristics, strengths, and challenges. By approaching sessions with genuine curiosity and active listening, Megan is able to learn who you are and the best way to begin working toward your goals.

With the knowledge of who you are and what you want, Megan opens up a reflective space to explore yourself, make decisions about your actions, and set accountability to keep you motivated and on track.

Essere & the Enneagram

The Enneagram is a system of personality typing that describes patterns in how people interpret the world and manage their emotions. The Enneagram describes nine personality types and maps each of these types on a nine-pointed diagram which helps to illustrate how the types relate to one another.

According to the Enneagram, each of the nine personality types is defined by a particular core belief about how the world works. This core belief drives your deepest motivations and fears — and fundamentally shapes a person's worldview and the perspective through which they see the world and the people around them.

Megan will ask all clients to take the Enneagram assessment prior to working together. While Megan seeks to get to know her clients through conversations, discovery, and work together — the Enneagram gives her a baseline understanding of what motivates the client, the client’s fears, and the client’s general perspective of the world.
